Sticking with the theme of dynamic design, I played around some more in after effects and used the timeline feature in photoshop for the first time this week. The first design was made in photoshop and it was pretty straight forward. I generated the images from adobe firefly (which I also used for the first time this week), added in the type and the noise effects and put it all together with the timeline feature. I tried to give the whole thing a flickering effect in order to play into the quote that the design is about. I played around with the timing of each frame so that it would feel like it is flickering at almost a random speed instead of just going back and forth between two pictures like a slideshow.
For the second design, "Leaving", I mainly wanted to play around with the glitch effects in after effects. The idea behind the design is to portray someone leaving...pretty simple. I wanted to show the progression of a person walking down a path some other besides just showing them walking away.
I generated the background first and then generated a second, very similar, picture with the silhouette of a person so that I could cut it out. I cut the silhouette out of a separate image that so that I wouldn't have to fill in the space from cutting the silhouette out of the original picture. I also generated that second image with similar lighting so that it would match the lighting of the original image without me having to mess with it. I then separated the sky from the foreground of the original image so that I could give it that pull effect without affecting the rest of the image. I mainly added this effect into the composition to give some more feeling of movement. I then added a glitch effect to each silhouette and played around a short line of coding in the effect in order to give it make them vanish in and out randomly.
I definitely liked playing around in after effects some more. I think it's really cool how easy it makes it for you to add complex effects to compositions while at the same time giving you the option to make those effects all the more complex if you learn how to adjust the settings and code of those effects.
